Blogging with Effy Day 7 | Purse Dump

Purses-1478814_1920 I had never heard of a purse dump until I read Effy Wild’s blog post today and boy did it resonate with me.  A Purse Dump is a list form blog that lets you just get all the crap that’s in your head out on the page. Here’s mine.

  • I am sick of cleaning our house.  It’s way too much space for us now that our kids are grown.  I feel like all I do is pick up and clean.  I want to downsize.  Hubby says he doesn’t.  The debate continues.
  • No reputable health insurance carriers are going to write individual polices in our very populated county in a greater metropolitan area beginning 1/1/2018. So I don’t know what we are going to do for health insurance next year.
  • For the next 6 weeks, I get to go to an art journaling class with my oldest daughter. This brings me a mega-ton of joy to get to share this with her!
  • I have been to the grocery three different times lately and all three times the person in front of me exiting the grocery just keeps walking letting go of their cart right in the middle where people are walking.  Do you not care about other people or even realize that other people are around you?
  • My husband and I were raised and we raised our children to respect themselves and others.  We brought them up to believe that if you share, you will always have enough be it your love, time, money, etc.  It is so disheartening to so often see how rude and self centered/selfish people are.  It’s the me me me mentality.  Get over yourself people!
  • And while I’m griping about people, quit your damn texting while your driving. Nothing you have to read or say is that important to endanger the lives of others.  You do not have that right.
  • Our weather has been simply gorgeous for this time of year.  It’s usually still fairly warm but for instance the high was only 68 today and mostly sunny.  Beautiful!
  • I cleaned out my car today.  It was in dire need of a good cleaning and I hit it with the shop vac.  And I found so many things I thought I had lost.  Can anyone relate?
  • My youngest daughter forgot her special calculator here at home and she needed it for a class tomorrow at college, 90 minutes away.  Her dad, my beloved husband drove to take it to her then turned around and came back home.  3 hour round trip. We didn’t find out she needed it until 3 pm today.  That’s love!
  • I feel better so that’s a wrap!

  1. I love that you and your oldest daughter are going to an art journaling class together!

Regarding texting and driving: today, as we were driving, my daughter said “Mom, it’s ironic that the tow truck driver next to us is on his cell phone.” I agree – why use your phone when you’re driving, it’s not worth it.

I’m glad you feel better after your purse dump!

  2. Hi Mary! I hear you about downsizing. I am at the same place in my life. I recently went to a really nice antiques center and instead of buying I was thinking of all the things I was going to bring there! My husband has other ideas and loves our large space and stuff. I also love to art journal – can’t wait to see more posts.

    1. Thanks Linda! My husband doesn’t mind cleaning, so I can’t wield that over him, (dang it). I’m sitting here loving the view in our back yard so today is one of those days I love our space. And it truly is home. Truth is, I don’t have the energy to go through the purging process and pack it all up to move. Sigh…in due time 🙂
